The College of Sports Development Malya has been successful in producing professional coaching and coordination for various sports in the country, including the UMISETA and MITACETA competitions.
This was stated by the Dean of the College, Mr Richard Richard, in a special interview in which he stated that the professions produced were based on courses offered at the college which include; Diploma Sports (Diploma) in the field of Sports Coaching, Sports Administration and Sports Management with a view to developing good sports promotion and development professionals in the country.
"The academy has an out-of-college training program with the community around the campus which has since been developed and has offered short-term training programs to various councils in the country and awareness has grown for stakeholders to study sports," said Mr Mganga.
He added that the College is the only sports academy in the country aiming to grow the industry by producing internationally acclaimed professionals.
Mr Mganga has mentioned the Councils that have benefited from the College through training provided to include Njombe Regional Council, Kalambo Region Rukwa, Iramba Regional Singida, Iringa Urban and Mpodwa Regional Dodoma.
On the other hand, the Dean of the College, Mr Mwamed Mwiduchi, said that the academy has good facilities that the surrounding community has developed and used in sports, while explaining that the teams that have been using the college teachers have been doing well in various competitions.
Mr Mwiduchi added that the College teaches Pete Ball, Handball, Basketball and Netball.
Malya College of Sports Development is located in Kwimba District in Mwanza.
