We now have an exciting opportunity within the East African leadership team in the role of Managing Director in Tanzania. This role will play an important role in driving the continued strategic development of our business in Tanzania. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a business with the successful candidate becoming part of the senior management team.

Job Title: General Manager

Place of destination: Tanzania

Reporting to: Regional Director for East Africa

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of procurement, financial management, and operational requirements across the business and supply chain.
• Develop and lead the implementation of business strategy, operations, and people management initiatives.
• Develop and lead all business activities to ensure strong delivery and management of all related tasks.
• Oversee, with the support of a broader team, the delivery of a sustainable supply chain and innovative sustainability projects.

Person specification

• Experience in the coffee industry having held commercially focused leadership positions.
• Business acumen with enthusiasm and striving to expand our sales into new markets and grow our customer base.
• The client is passionately focused on ensuring customer satisfaction with existing relationships as well as striving to expand the market and start a new business.
• Experience in logistics, field extension service, warehouse operations, and quality control - the ability to work in all these areas to improve procedures and staff capabilities and take full responsibility for the results of the selected areas
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to different attitudes and behaviors.
• Strong and flexible personality with the ability to work independently and confidently.
• Knowledge in financial management and budget management.
• Practical experience working with sustainable supply chains will be beneficial.
• The ability to speak Swahili will be helpful
