Gita Gold Mine (GGML) is the leading gold mining producer in Tanzania with one operation in the Gita region. The company is a subsidiary of Agro Gold Ashanti, the global gold producer. Their headquarters are in South Africa. The mine is located in the Lake Victoria golden fields of Lake Victoria in northwest Tanzania, only about 85 km from the city of Mwanza and 20 km near Lake Victoria. Beyond: Environmental Technician
The purpose of the role
The role is to perform the correction of environmental monitoring data through sample analysis and laboratory analysis as well as fetching data from the monitoring device. The role holder will also assist in managing environmental monitoring data safely and effectively using available data management tools.

Main main responsibilities
Sampling and analysis of water quality
Examination of sampling points and methods
Multi-parameter meter calibration
Measurement of physical parameters
Save the sample
Preparation of incubation series (COC)
Transporting supplies to the lab
Conducting microbial analysis in the on-site laboratory
Follow up with the laboratory contact person to obtain analytical results.
Air quality data collection
Detect the falling dust bottles and take them to the laboratory
Uncover the collection tubes and transport them to the laboratory.
Download repairable dust data from the dust monitor
Meteorological data collection
Fetch meteorological data from weather stations
Explosion noise and vibration data collection
Explosion-related noise and vibration measurement
Monitor equipment maintenance and repair
Monitoring equipment inventory update
Update and maintain calibration and maintenance schedules
data storage
Loading data into the database on a regular basis
Retrieve and share data as required by users
qualification
Skills and knowledge of environmental monitoring requirements
Ability to use a range of environmental monitoring tools
Skills and knowledge in monitoring equipment
Experience with environmental data management tools.
