We are looking for a Quality Engineer to monitor and improve the quality of our processes and operating results. The responsibilities of the quality engineer include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and defining corrective actions. He will also work with managers and supervisors to implement quality metrics. This person will be responsible for managing the quality indicators of the cigar production machines and filters. A successful quality engineer must have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. The incumbent must have a passion for quality processes. He must be an analytical person, a team player, with a sense of urgency and a desire to develop in a dynamic and challenging environment. What will you be responsible for?
- Analyze and manage the information contained in the global quality system to ensure compliance with the quality indicators of the final product in the factory.
- Monitor trends and performance indicators to uncover areas of opportunity and support to resolve existing issues by coordinating action plans.
- Ensure that the quality indicators of the final product are satisfactory through supervision and compliance with the established quality standards.
- Monitor the nonconforming product indicator and create action plans (corrective and preventive) in case the established goals are not met.
- Provide or provide quality auditors with the necessary resources to achieve the objectives of the area, as well as supervise their work, manage overtime and support them in resolving existing problems.
- Coordination of metrology, ensuring compliance with the calibration and verification programs of the measurement and testing equipment, and ensuring its maintenance and updating.
- Spread a culture of continuous improvement in all operations.
- Use statistical process controls and analysis to determine process capabilities, identify trends, and prioritize issues.
- Conduct root cause investigations and make recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
- Report and analysis of internal and external KPIs including PPM, Scrap, DPU, Early Hour Guarantee, etc.
- Work with management, quality control, engineering, procurement, marketing, and production personnel in evaluating and improving products, raw materials, and manufacturing processes.
- maintain and ensure that its operations comply with the requirements of ISO 9001 standards; Quality policy, internal and external audits, risk management, process approach, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
Basic knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Minimum of a degree in any engineering, occupational health, and safety or related profession.
- Experience in quality within a manufacturing company and in production processes.
- Manage the people responsible for you.
- Strong leadership ability.
- Ensure daily monitoring and measurable customer implementation
- Internal product audits (schedule development, help to execute @rate, follow-up of action lists).
- Contribute to the quality objectives of the company.
